stay good
For couples who want to stay close · Online Australia-wide & in person, WA

Come back before things get hard.

Most couples only think of therapy when something breaks. A Tune-Up is the opposite — a short, warm reconnection while things are good, so the small misses get caught before they harden. The couples who last aren't the ones who never rupture; they're the ones who come back.

Why a tune-up

You service the car before it breaks down. A relationship's no different.

We're taught to reach for help only in crisis — when the resentment's set, the distance is wide, and the work is long. But the couples who go the distance aren't the ones who never drift. They're the ones who notice early, and come back for a small correction while it's still small.

A Tune-Up is that small correction: a single, unhurried session to revisit the miss you're prone to, dust off the moves that break it, and name whatever's quietly shifted since. It's tending your relationship on purpose — the least dramatic, most underrated thing you can do for it.

A tune-up, not a rescue

Reconnection you choose — not repair you're forced into.

There's a particular relief in coming to therapy when nothing's on fire. No bracing, no big feelings to survive first — just an hour to turn toward each other on purpose, with someone who already knows how you love.

Desire and closeness aren't things you fix once. They're things you tend — and tending is a skill, not a sign something's wrong.

Queer-led, so there's no translating even now. Two of you or more than two; any orientation, gender, or structure. We pick up your language and your history from the first minute.

What a Tune-Up moves through

Three small things, done on purpose.

one

Revisit the miss

We look at the loop you're most prone to — the reach that tends not to land — and check where it's been showing up lately, before it hardens into something bigger.

two

Refresh the moves

We dust off the few repair moves that work for you, tune them to where life is now, and add any that fit the season you're in.

three

Name what's shifted

New job, new baby, new city, new dynamic — we make room for what's changed, so your relationship gets to keep up with the two, or more, of you.

When a Tune-Up fits

Good is worth keeping. Here's when to book one.

Most common

You've done the work before

We've worked together, things are steadier, and you want to keep it that way — a check-in before old patterns quietly creep back.

You're good, and want to stay good

No crisis, no history with me needed. Just two people who'd rather tend the relationship than wait for it to ask for attention.

A big change is coming

Moving in, a wedding, a baby, a transition, a new dynamic. A Tune-Up right before helps you meet the change as a team.

It's been a while

Nothing's wrong, exactly — you've just drifted a little. One unhurried session is often all it takes to find each other again.

However you love, you're welcome to come back as often, or as rarely, as your relationship needs.

Honest answers

The questions couples ask us first.

Do we have to have seen you before?
No. A Tune-Up is lovely as a return visit if we've worked together, but it's just as welcome for any couple in a good place who wants to stay that way. If we've never met, we'll spend a little of the session getting oriented — you don't need a long history with me to benefit.
How often should we come?
There's no rule, but most couples find a rhythm of once a season, or once a year, keeps them ahead of the small stuff. The Seasonal option books four across the year; the Annual Check-Up is a single yearly ritual we remind you about. You choose the cadence that fits your life.
Is a Tune-Up actual therapy, or just a check-in?
It's real, focused work — just aimed at maintenance rather than crisis. We revisit the miss you're prone to, refresh the moves that break it, and name what's shifted since we last spoke. Think of it as tending the relationship on purpose, not waiting for something to go wrong.
What if something bigger comes up in the session?
That's completely okay — sometimes a tune-up surfaces something that deserves more room. If it does, we'll name it gently and talk about what would help, whether that's a few more sessions or something else. You'll never be rushed past something that matters.
Is it online or in person, and can we claim it?
Both — online across Australia, or in person in Western Australia. Like all relationship therapy, a Tune-Up is a private service, GST-free, and isn't claimable through Medicare, which covers individual mental health treatment.
